High pitched squeal on braking is often the brake pad warning indicator which is simply telling you its time to replace your brake pads. Heavy grinding on braking usually means the brakes are worn past there useable thickness and are "metal to metal", get it checked out immediately. Noises that come and go are trickier to pin down and can be any number of things from a cracked pad, metallic squeal or even weather conditions! It's always best to let Gerald's have a look, our brake check is no charge.

If you notice your brake warning light come on check your brake fluid, if it is low you may have a leak in your system. Always get your system checked when you notice anything out of the ordinary, better safe than sorry.

A vibration on braking is another common problem. This is most often caused by warped rotors. If the rotors are thick enough this problem can often be fixed by resurfacing also called "turning" the rotors.
